The Isle of Man
has
adopted the
Manx cat as a
symbol of its native origins and the government's
mint issues their own stamps and coins, these are
legal tender
on the island and sought after collectors items
worldwide.
Manx cats
appear on some of them
including
the
1988 "cat"
crown coin and
on postage stamps,
here are a few |
|
 |
The very first crown issued by the Isle of Man
Government with this unusual cat issued in 1970.
It is very special because it is struck in
Uncirculated and is much scarcer than the proof
issue of the same date |
